Membership

The annual fee of $35 (individual) or $45 (family) covers one calendar year. Join or renew in the last quarter, and receive membership for that quarter plus the next full year!

Member Benefits

• Education – Each monthly Member Meeting features an informative speaker on a topic important to writers.
• Member Profile – Prepare an author biography and have it posted free on the website as long as you are an active member. See Member Profile section for instructions on how to format and submit your information
• Critique Groups – You may sign up for an online or in-person critique group made up of other members of the League. No cost involved. Fill out and submit a request form to join a group.
• Discounts – We offer discounts to our members when we host educational classes.
• Networking – Find tips and support by networking with other authors at Member Meetings.
• Service – We provide special activities and training events, and offer occasional special writing-related events for area writers to attend.
• Book Briefs – Enjoy free publicity, compliments of the Williamson County Sun. SGWL Members who have a book published will be featured in their Book Briefs column (copy may be edited at the discretion of the newspaper). To be included, send the following information to SGWLContact@gmail.com:
  • A synopsis of the book
  • How/why you chose to write it
  • Your writing background
  • Note any awards/recognitions you’ve received
  • Where book is available for purchase
  • A photo of the book jacket

Visitors are always welcome at our monthly Member meetings and may attend two Thursday meetings without paying annual dues.
